Bhojpuri Association of India (BHAI) has ambitious goals and projects . The key objectives are described below and will serve as directives in aligning with the vision and mission.
A) Preserve and promote linguistic interests related to Bhojpuri language among Bhojpuri-speaking people (bhojpuriyas) in India and abroad, cater to the interests of people whose ancestral place is a Bhojpuri region or who wish to be associated with the Bhojpuri language, culture and literature.
B) Encourage people to speak, write and learn Bhojpuri and support programs for the common adoption of Bhojpuri language in all possible fields to retain its identity, roots and culture.
C) Promote Bhojpuri and make it attractive by choice for youth, children and adults through local meetings, cultural events, festival celebrations, summer camps, special programs and generate local interest through social networking opportunities.
D) Establish a team of eminent scholars from schools/colleges/universities and from various Bhojpuri-speaking regions across the globe and encourage them to collaborate, write and translate relevant works in Bhojpuri into print or electronic media for current and future generations.
E) To foster and nurture the Bhojpuri heritage and traditions among BHAI members and the Bhojpuri community-at-large from all walks of life at every district, state, country level so as to provide a platform to unite and interact with each other.
F) To push for social, cultural, educational, and career development of Bhojpuriyas and to encourage active participation of all members in these programs for the overall community success. BHAI will instill self-pride, community feeling and awareness among bhojpuriyas and give a momentum to accelerate the progress of the Bhojpuri society through various programs.
G) To link and interface with other Bhojpuri organizations, Bhojpuri societies and Internet-based Bhojpuri groups throughout the world and play the role of an umbrella organization to reach out to bhojpuriyas beyond geographic boundaries.
H) Seek recognition for Bhojpuri as a recognized language by Govt. of India and take any steps for making cognizant Bhojpuri language as a form of communication where its native speakers reside.
I) Host annual bhojpuri conventions, public meetings, open houses, special gatherings to promote Bhojpuri across the globe and make it a prominent language on the global map.
J) To empower BHAI to act as a non-governmental regulatory body and also in a censorship board role for Bhojpuri media and other forms of mass communication such as films, songs, print, internet, TV/Radio channels to protect the image and integrity of Bhojpuri and the community.
K) To raise voice as needed and check anti-Bhojpuri elements and commercial market elements with vested personal interests from exploiting Bhojpuri for self-gains and degrading or maligning the image of Bhojpuri language, culture or its native-speakers directly or indirectly.
L) To act, assert, assist, aid or assume any responsibilities for BHAI and Bhojpuri members at national and international levels, as necessary, that are needed to preserve and protect the best interests of its members in accomplishing the above objectives.
