Bhojpuri Association of India (BHAI) North Chapter in Lucknow was inaugurated on Republic Day by bhojpuri film stars Pakhi Hegde and Dineshlal Yadav 'Nirahua' giving the leadership mantle to BHAI-North Regional Director Shri. Dinesh Tiwari, who welcomed a large bhojpuri audience gathered at this special event.
"Bhojpuri is making waves across the world through all channels and I hope BHAI will be a step further in this direction and will try its level best to promote our language and culture", remarked Bhojpuri Superstar 'Nirahua'. The event attracted several well-known dignitaries and media gurus including Shri. Manoj Shrivastava, Coordinating Editor of Bhojpuri Sansar Patrika, Shri.Kuldeep Shrivastava , Editor-in-Chief, PurvanchalExpress.com and Shri. Vinod Mishra, Secretary of Kalakaar Association Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Pintoo who heads the Pakhi Hegde Fans club in UP was also present at the event.
BHAI aims to become a well-recognized National Bhojpuri platform in India and act as an umbrella organization and key player in a pivotal role to promote linguistic interests in Bhojpuri language, uphold the integrity of Bhojpuri culture, build a prosperous Bhojpuri society and emerge as the “United Nations” of the Bhojpuri world.
BHOJPURI is one of the popular dialects of India, spoken mainly in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh, western part of Bihar, Jharkhand, Nepal, Mauritius (national language), Guyana, Surinam, Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji, Singapore, South Africa and USA. There are more than 200 million speakers of Bhojpuri today.
